Performance and luxury define Infiniti, and if you prefer your cars the same way, then buckle up because it looks like a 550 horsepower Infiniti is in the works.
In a recent out letter sent from the desk of the Infiniti president, he casually mentioned that a supercharged M-series Infiniti could be coming down the pike. Right now, details about the new model are hazy at best. We are pretty sure that this new Infiniti vehicle will have a powerfully charged induction V6 engine. This new car will most likely feature a plethora of new technologies but that remains to be seen.
Johan de Nysschen, the head of Infiniti, says, "Our new advanced technology engines under development will be smaller, lighter, more fuel efficient yet more powerful. And we will introduce some exhilarating performance machines in the future."1
All of these announcements and rumors surround the changes being made to the Infiniti naming scheme. In order to keep themselves unique in the face of other luxury car makers, this brand is going to name all of its cars with the letter "Q", and all crossovers with "QX". Also the engine displacement will be eliminated from the model name.
If you would like to learn more about the new naming process or maybe get some more hints about the 550 horsepower sedan that is apparently in the works, be sure to stop by the Kuni Westside Infiniti showroom.
